Dating back to the 1840s, H. Upmann is among the oldest cigar brands still in use today. It began in the early 1840s when Herman Upmann left his position as a banker to establish a branch office in Havana. Upmann soon understood that he might start a business in the field, and in 1844 he made the audacious decision to invest in a cigar factory, formally launching the H. Upmann brand.

The H. Upmann Connoisseur No. 1 Cigar is the one Cuban cigar that every connoisseur should have in their humidor. It is a historic linea within the H. Upmann brand, and its most noteworthy size was the highly coveted!

The finest tobacco leaves from Vuelta Abajo in Cuba are used to make this Hermosos No. 4 vitola, which measures 5″/127mm by a 48 ring gauge. Cedar, nutty, and floral flavours are to be expected from this light-to-medium-bodied smoke.

Each cigar is kept in a cedar sliding-lid cabinet and has a strong band with the cigar’s name inscribed on it.
