Description
Romeo and Julieta was first performed as a Havana in 1875 and was named after the tragic lovers in William Shakespeare’s plays.
Under the leadership of Don “Pepin” Rodriguez, a gifted promoter who was one of the first to understand the cigar band’s potency, the brand achieved worldwide renown in the early 1900s. In his prime, at least 20,000 distinct bands were employed in the cigar-making process.
Originally unveiled in 2020 to celebrate the 145th anniversary of the renowned company, Romeo y Julieta Linea de Oro comes in three sizes: Dianas, Hidalgos, and Nobles. A step up from the well-known medium-bodied blend used in the original line, all three sizes have been blended to a medium to full taste.
The cigars come in chic red lacquered boxes with an embossed medallion put on the lid when purchased in a box. Like Cohiba vitolas, each of the 20 cigars inside is adorned with a custom band that features the vitola’s name and a distinctive golden foot band with holographic accents around the edges.
