In 2007,Cohiba introduced the Linea Maduro 5 series, which comes in three sizes and is wrapped in a dark maduro leaf that has been specifically aged for five years. On November 4,1992,during a festival commemorating the 500th anniversary of Christopher Columbus' discovery of the New World, the Cohiba Lea 1492 range was initially revealed at an event at the Captain General's Palace in Havana. The five sizes of the Linea 1492Siglo I,II,III,IV,and V before the sixth was added in 2002were specifically created to commemorate Columbus' 500th anniversary. Each Siglo, which translates to Century in Spanish, represents one of the five succeeding centuries. The Linea 1492 is still the lightest-flavored Cohibas line and is categorised as medium-flavored.
