Hoyo de Monterrey Double Coronas Cigar

The village of San Juan y Martinez, located in the centre of the Vuelta Abajo zone, is where Hoyo de Monterrey had its start. The town's main centre has a gate that reads, ""Hoyo de Monterrey. Jose Gener. 1960."" This gate leads to the Hoyo de Monterrey plantation, one of the great Vegas de Primera. A powerful cigar with a taste that is surprisingly mild and smooth. When a late '80s example received a 99 out of 100 rating in the second issue of Cigar Aficionado, it shot to fame. It's still a cigar worth considering. Outstanding, robust, greasy, and bursting with richness and scent. This smoke is fantastic. A hint of caramel, a rush of cinnamon, and creamy flavours of almond and vanilla quickly emerge.
