Casamigos Joven

Description

George Clooney, Rande Gerber, and Mike Meldman founded the Casamigos brand, which initially gained popularity in the tequila market. However, Casamigos has since added their first mezcal to their repertoire.This joven (unaged) artesanal mezcal was created in partnership with a family that has been producing mezcal in Santiago Matatln, Oaxaca, Mexico, for five generations. It is produced entirely of espadin agave. The pias are crushed with a tahona and baked in earthen pits lined with volcanic rock. Copper pot stills are used to double distil the mezcal following an extended fermenting process. It’s incredibly smokey, herbal, and quite wonderful.
