The Highland Distillery has redesigned its flagship Glenmorangie Original, raising the minimum age requirement for the whisky to at least 12 years old. The Glenmorangie single malt Scotch, which took home a gold medal at the World Whiskies Awards 2024 before it was ever made available to the general public, was aged to 12 years old because Dr. Bill Lumsden, the company’s director of whisky creation, and his team thought this would add extra silkiness, complexity, and sweetness.
